Life after St Deiniol's Library
I managed to ring on the new bells at St Magnus the Martyr - an excellent installation and very pleasant to ring. Patsy went off and did various arty things and we met up later in the afternoon on the steps of the National Gallery. We went to Cosmoba - a very good Italian Restaurant that I often frequented years ago we enjoyed pizza with very good wine and the best tiramisu this side of the channel. You can get more details from their website - it is definitely recommended if you are at the British Museum.
Patsy and I then wandered round to St Pancras to behold the glories of the restoration. We couldn't resist having our pictures taken with John Betjeman who took a liking to my battered old satchel. The Champagne Bar beckoned and as we were both a bit depressed with recent events we decided to indulge in champagne with strawberries and cream. That put us in the right spirit to stagger along to Euston to get a train home to Chester. Oh dear - Virgin trains: grubby, overpriced unless you book aeons in advance and cramped but fast and now they manage to take you all the way to Chester.
